Having began a path in business, Tim transferred from the business program at Drury University to receive a bachelor of arts degree in Pastoral Theology with an emphasis in Greek language study from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.  After a career as an entrepreneur, Tim then spent several years in sales, marketing, and editorial work in educational publishing at the college/university level for McGraw-Hill Higher Education. Later he served as the Marketing Director for an independent Christian publishing House for 2 years.  In 2015 he received his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

Having a passion for teens and 12+ years experience in lay positions with family and youth ministry, he moved to San Diego and Ocean View Church as the full time youth pastor in 2008.  In 2010, experience and background in education led him to administration at Ocean View Christian Academy as a vice principal.  Tim comes from three generations of educators on his mother's side.  His father was also formerly a math and science professor at Valparaiso Technical Institute and later at Ball State University.  Other areas of Tim's involvement at OVCA include professional development, curriculum and instruction, marketing, graphic design, web-development, former High School Associated Student Body sponsor, former varsity baseball head coach, elementary athletics director, chapel/retreat planning & coordination, and he is the routine speaker in all chapel services.  His favorite role at Ocean View Christian is shepherding young hearts and seeing young lives devoted to Jesus.

His wife, Carrie, also teaches at Ocean View Christian Academy.  They have 4 awesome kids (all at OVCA).  Tim and Carrie are both actively involved in ministry at Ocean View Church.  Tim has taught adult discipleship classes and Carrie has served in Surf City Children's ministry for 8 years.
